Step 5: Setting Up Your Website

Lesson 5 Module 1

Setting Up Your Website

Welcome back.

Now you’ve got your website created it’s time to start setting it up for blogging.

There are two ways to access the administration area of your website. The best way is through typing your domain name followed by /wp-admin (example.siterubix.com/wp-admin) into your browser’s address bar. The other way is through Site Manager at Wealthy Affiliate.

Watch the video where I show you step-by-step how to access your website's administration area and how to find your username and password.

There are a couple of plugins which have already been installed which you’ll want to activate to make them work. And you'll want to tweak the settings for the Classic Editor plugin so you're able to access the default block editor.

You’ll also want to trash the default page and post that WordPress has included. You'll be creating your own posts and pages as you start blogging.

If there are any updates to the themes, plugins or WordPress then you should update straight away as many of the updates provide extra features, fix bugs, and are important for your website's security.

Watch the video then use the link below to access the rest of this lesson.

I'm sure you'll want your readers to know you by your name or nickname instead of "admin". Find out how to fix that when you click this button.
