Review Stars in WordPress, Simple HTML

This article is for bloggers who write reviews or share recipes on their website. You can create your own stars rating without a plugin by copying and pasting one of the following into your WordPress post or page:

My Rating: ★★★★★
My Rating: ★★★★☆
My Rating: ★★★☆☆
My Rating: ★★☆☆☆
My Rating: ★☆☆☆☆

To change the size of the stars simply copy and paste the following code into the Text tab of your post:

My Rating: <span style="font-size: 36pt;">★★★★★</span>

replacing the stars with your rating selection and ’36pt’ with the size of your choosing.

To add color

Colored Stars

  1. Click the icon at the end of the row of icons to open up the second row of icons.
  2. Highlight the group of stars
  3. Click on the Text Color icon
  4. I like to use gold for my stars but you can choose any color you like.

With the addition of the color of your choice the end result will look something like this:
