In this video we’re going to look at the WordPress dashboard.
Your website dashboard may look somewhat different to mine. This is normal, and to be expected.
Just as your theme controls the way your website looks to your visitors, your theme also controls the way your WordPress dashboard looks to you.
And many of the plugins that you add will contribute to your dashboard options.
Even admins on the same website will see things somewhat differently, depending on the settings in their user profile.
We’ll look at the user profile page in another video.
The main menu options are on the left-hand side with some options on the toolbar at the top of the page.
We’ll look at the menu items individually in other videos.
It could be that your side menu is just a thin strip of icons without any words, don’t panic.
The disappearing menu can be a bit of a whodunnit. It sometimes occurs when you reduce the width of your browser.
It’s easy to fix. So, if your menu looks like this, click the little arrow icon at the bottom to open the menu up.
The same icon collapses the menu.
